Lost Bayou Ramblers
The
Lost Bayou Ramblers are a young group that plays in the old style–or
rather styles, exploring the rich diversity of the Cajun musical
heritage. They play traditional Cajun with a sprinkle of Juke Joint dancehall tunes. The band also plays music from the Swing string era of the late
1930s and 1940s. That excitement has been captured on Live à la Blue Moon,
recorded in January 2007 and released later that year by Swallow
Records. The CD was nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award in the new
Zydeco-Cajun category.
